The only thing more awesome than riding in Quiksilver gear in the winter is rockin’ it in the summer. When I’m not skiing in the X Games, or working at Lockerz, I’m at the lakes and beaches with my friends in Quiksilver’s finest.

1.  Hotel Yoga Workout. I love traveling but it definitely gets stressful. Yoga is a great way to calm down after a long flight or car ride!

2.  Alex and Ani Jewelry (Interview).  I think that their jewelry is fantastically unique and it was awesome to hear the concepts behind it. I actually just bought one of their bangles from SHOP!

3. Angel in the Kitchen – 04 – Elegant Bites. I love bruschetta! I made this recipe for my friends and everyone loved it.

4. Dylan’s Candy Bar – The Sweet Life. Dylan’s Candy Bar is a great and innovative company. Not only do they sell delicious and varied candies, but they also have incorporated clothing and bath products that smell amazing!

5. The Ting Tings - “That’s Not My Name.” I got a little sick of hearing this song on the radio all the time, but the acoustic version is fabulous!

Happy Birthday Odyss!

Odyss-Bday_2We’re celebrating the birthday of our most beloved mascot and best friend. If it weren’t for the little guy, we all wouldn’t be as inspired to come up with great ideas like PLAY and SHOP. Yes, he may be a little rambunctious, but it’s only because he’s full of love. It’s Odyss who keeps begging us to give double PTZ to you all,  just yesterday, we caught him stuffing envelopes full of Odyss iPhone skins and sending them off to Arkansas, Japan and a whole bunch of places in between.  We’re all eating cupcakes to celebrate the b-day of Odyss, and we’re pretty sure his next year is going to be even better. Get a little bit of the Odyss charm for yourself right here. And keep watching this space for more of his treats!

What’s your office nickname?

The Lockerz team calls me A-Rob,  although I also get a lot of “Dakota Fanning” and “The Bruce Willis of Fulfillment.”

What exactly do you do at Lockerz?

I work directly with our warehouse team to make sure the SHOP experience goes smoothly for all members. I also make sure our warehouse is sending out prizes to members who redeem. Sending them out fast!

When did you join Lockerz?

It was a sunny day in October around 8:56 am.

What band would you most want to see live?

The Everyday With Rachel Ray house band or The National, whichever ticket is easier to get.

What living person do you most admire?

It’s a toss up between the cast of Grey’s Anatomy, Wolverine and my Dad

What’s your favorite shop in the world?

I’m a big fan of the thrift store myself,  but if we are talking about a shop online, I would have to say Puma.

What are you most excited to buy from Lockerz SHOP?

The Retrobrand t-shirt’s are without a doubt going into my shopping cart.  The Skullcandy headphones are also going in there!

PTZ SLIDER — greatest invention ever?

Holy Lord yes!  The PTZ Slider is going to change the whole online shopping game, the same way the iPod changed the music industry forever.

How psyched are you for letting our members into SHOP?

I think of it like this, I have unlimited invites as a Lockerz member to pass out to anyone I please so they can enjoy SHOP.  It’s going to be epic!

I turned 16 in January!

Late September, I believe.

How many PTZ do you have?

What are three things you’d say to describe yourself?

I have my bookshelf organized by color. I dance whenever I think nobody’s looking. I love the city and would not be able to live anywhere without a diversity of people and things to do.

Are you more excited about the Olympics or the Academy Awards?

Though I prefer winter sports to summer, I am ALWAYS super excited for the Academy Awards. I’m really interested in film production, so I’m always excited to see the awards for even the smaller, less popular categories.

What inspires you?

Is “everything” a valid answer?

Who is your style icon?

Ellen Page always manages to look casual as well as cute. If I was more ambitious I’d say Marie Antoinette…unfortunately I don’t have an entire Revolution to spend doing my hair.

What are the most-listened to songs on your playlist?

Recently I’ve been listening to Deadbeat Summer by Neon Indian and My Maudlin Career by Camera Obscura on repeat. Overall, I think most most-listened song is Emanuela, a song by the German rap group Fettes Brot.

What’s your favorite Daily Question and how did you answer?

“Hippie or Hipster?” That question made me laugh out loud. I think I picked “Hippie” because I had just seen Hair on Broadway.

What is your favorite movie of all time?

It’s a tie between Fritz Lang’s M and The Lion King.

What place in the world would you most like to visit?

I’d love to tour India!

If you could donate to any charity, what would it be?

Amnesty International.

What is your favorite book?

The Pillowman by Martin McDonough. It’s actually a play. but….

Which living person do you most admire?

Lynda Barry. She’s a comic artist who often does autobiographical work, and the stories she tells about her life and growing up are incredible.

I illustrate things the members will someday hopefully love; I design, and I make The Pit smell pretty.

What are three things you’d say to describe yourself?

Curious, artistic, and open-minded.

Who is your style icon?

I don’t know that I have one. My “style” seems to change a lot. But I love the look of vintage pin-ups, and I love how effortlessly beautiful Jennifer Aniston is.

What inspires you?

Passionate people.

What are the most-listened to songs on your playlist?

Lighten Up Francis (JLE dub mix)by Puscifer, Taiyed by 311, Move by Damien Marley.

What’s your favorite Daily Question and how did you answer?

“What are your favorite lyrics?” I answered with my favorite song — 3 Libras by A Perfect Circle.

Do you use the Web to procrastinate or educate?

Both! Depending on where I am and what I’m doing.

What place in the world would you most like to visit?

Anywhere where I can feel the hot sun on my skin year round, and see beautiful beach in every direction.

Which living person do you most admire?

Maynard James Keenan. And of course, my mumma.

If you could donate to any charity, what would it be?

Any foundation helping to save music and art programs in schools. When the budget drops in public schools, those classes are always the first to go. I think they are more than extracurricular — and so important for self-expression.

When did you start working at Lockerz?

September 2009.

What do you do at Lockerz?

I work with the Marketing Team to help with fulfillment and PTZ Place. My official job title is “The Doer.” I do things that need to be done.

What are three things you’d say to describe yourself?

I read books. I’m happy that I don’t quite belong. I try to help people.

What is your favorite thing about winter?

The first three breaths of fresh air when you step outside in the cold.  Anything after that, it just gets cold.

What inspires you?

Literature. People who write honestly about their own circumstance.

E-mail or texting?

E-mail. I try to stay away from cell phones.

What are the most-listened to songs on your playlist?

Kiss the Bottle by Lucero (the Jawbreaker cover). Lungs by Townes Van Zandt. Downtown Train by Tom Waits. It’s Hard to Know by Hot Water Music.

What’s your favorite Daily Question and how did you answer?

“Who was your childhood crush?” Michelle Trachtenberg. As a kid she played this character Nona on a show, “Pete and Pete”.  I was the same age as her and I had great taste.

What is your favorite movie of all time?

The Motorcycle Diaries (but these things constantly change).

What place in the world would you most like to visit?

Afghanistan, Iran or Iceland. There is a lot of history in those areas along with a completely different setting/style.

If you could donate to any charity, what would it be?

A Child Unheard in Uganda. Philanthropy is a great thing — as long as you realize that there is always more to be done.
